Michael Baughan is a founder and partner of Osprey Capital, a firm that was founded in 2011 that provides private investment and strategic advisory services to private equity sponsors and corporations in the aerospace and industrial manufacturing and services industries.

 

Michael has extensive experience in the commercial aerospace   and manufacturing industries and currently serves as Chairman   of the AeroX Board of Directors. AeroX is a non-profit focused on enabling the  commercialization of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in North Carolina. Since 2015, Michael  has served on the executive board of ATL Partners, an aerospace-focused private equity  fund, and since 2019, he has served as a director of Valence Surface Technologies, a provider  of aerospace and defense metal finishing services.  

 

From 1994 to 2011, Michael held various executive positions within B/E Aerospace, Inc.  (NASDAQ: BEAV) where he most recently served as President & COO from 2005 until 2011.  In his role, he helped transform a domestic components supplier into a global multi-billion dollar Tier 1 enterprise, supplying critical aircraft systems and components to the world’s  leading airlines and OEM’S, and employing over 6,500 employees. During his tenure, he  led the company through multiple acquisitions and successful business integrations.  

 

From 2013 to 2016, Michael served as Chairman of the Board for Noranco, Inc., a global  manufacturer of aerospace components and assemblies. From 2007 to 2015, he served on  the Board of Trustees for Novant Health, including serving as chairman from 2013 to 2014.  From 2012-2015, he was a director of the Jones & Frank Corporation.  

 

Michael received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia (1981) and  a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School (1986). He is an  instrument-rated pilot.
